But you don’t have to accept these changes as inevitable! There are some important steps you can take to make sure you remain both a health and fit senior.

Before you start any exercise regime you should consult with your doctor, of course. A physician will be able to tell you not only any risks vigorous exercise may pose, but should be able to point you in the direction of what exercises will be most beneficial given your present health condition.

Once you have the go ahead, you may want to consider setting up a training session with a personal trainer at your local gym. A person trainer should be able to guide you to learn routines safely and create the best exercise routine to suite your needs and lifestyle.

Fortunately, most cities have a wide variety of activities seniors can participate in. Consider trying something new, like a dance or swimming class, to make exercise both beneficial and a learning experience.

Once you get started exercising regularly, you will find that you will start to feel younger and more vigorous than ever. It doesn’t take much to become a fit an active senior. It just takes a little effort to get started properly, and then you are off!
